TOMS OF MAINE
prebiotics with Dr. Amy Shah
LAUNCH: January 2020
While producing video content, my team and I have been on the inside of many organizations from mom & pop shops on Main Street to fortune 500 companies on Wall Street. But never have we witnessed a company as true to it's brand than Tom's of Maine. While recording footage in their factory in Maine, we saw first hand how serious their employees take their commitment to being a zero waste factory. Everything gets used and virtually nothing goes to waste. Even toothpaste byproduct is organic, so it's able to be used as compost on land near the factory. As we were about to enter the factory, our guide assured us that the mandatory ear plugs and shoe covers would be sterilized and reused. As if we had any doubt they would!
This video with Dr. Amy Shah was an amazing experience. With NYC based director Amanda Rodriguez at the creative helm, we worked with a mix of NYC and local Arizona and LA crew to tell our story in a succinct, aesthetic and bold way, but still adhering to the earthy and organic Tom's brand. Furthermore, getting to work with a practicing Doctor gave the video a huge degree of credibility, which only served to strengthen the final product (and spin offs for various platforms).
TOMS OF MAINE
recyclable toothpaste tubes
LAUNCH: February 2020
This is a huge deal. Tom's of Maine created the first of its kind recyclable toothpaste tubes. What was so astounding to me about this project was discovering that most, if not nearly all toothpaste tubes on the market are not recyclable today.
As a brand, Tom's is genuine about their commitment to the communities they create products for, and the environment where those products are produced. This project involved visiting Tom's of Maine's headquarters and factory in Sanford, Maine where we shot interviews and b-roll at one of the only zero waste factories anywhere! This means even the byproduct from toothpaste and soaps can get used as fertilizer in the forest nearby because they are made from organic ingredients.
After watching this video, look for the blue flag that says "We've switched to a recyclable tube..." next time you're at your local pharmacy.
The Yoga Summit
LAUNCH: September 2020
One of my favorite types of businesses to work with is startups. They tend to be scrappy, resourceful and grant our team a high degree of creative control.
This is a kickstarter video for The Yoga Summit recorded at Sivananda Yoga Ranch, which is located on beautiful grounds upstate New York. Not only do they practice and study yoga, but there is also a Farm on the grounds where fresh organic vegetables are cultivated and grown for subsistence.
The best part of a project like this is seeing a crowd funding campaign grow by over 22,000 and Facebook following grow by thousands due to a combined video and greater social media push.
